A Better Cooperation Governance (ISO1)
What are the common complaints we hear in our countries? Bureaucracy, inefficient administration, policies that don’t reflect everyday life, difficulties in border regions, and low trust in institutions. And it becomes even more complex when several regions from different countries try to make and implement joint decisions about it.
How do we deal with this? How do we improve the administrative efficiency? What kind of processes, tools, skills do the institutions need to work best and meet their core functions? Such challenges require cooperation across borders and sharing of experiences, practices and potential solutions. No single programme can fix these problems alone, but by working together, we can make real progress. Long-term collaboration between programmes will lead to meaningful results and pave the way for future improvements.
Who is this network for
This community is for representatives from Interreg programmes working on cooperation governance challenges. We also actively involve EU institutions to ensure the discussions have a broad impact.
What are we working on
Shaping the future: We follow discussions on what’s next for ISO 1 after 2027, ensuring that governance remains a key focus in upcoming policies and programmes.
Supporting programmes: We help programmes manage challenges like attracting participants, balancing top-down and bottom-up approaches, and guiding project applicants.
Sharing success: We highlight the value of ISO 1 and showcase achievements in governance by sharing successful project examples from across the Interreg community.
Analysing data: We address specific policy topics, collect data, and share the results widely through events, articles, and reports.
