Interreg Cooperation Day
On or around 21 September every year, Interreg comes together to celebrate Interreg Cooperation Day – a Europe-wide campaign facilitated by Interact, but led by Interreg programmes and partners, who organise events across the continent to connect cooperation with local audiences. The specific mission of Interreg Cooperation Day is to showcase to society how projects reduce disparities between countries and demonstrate the benefits of regional cooperation.
This year we are celebrating 35 years of Interreg. It is a major milestone to reflect on how far we have come, and to highlight the many ways Interreg has contributed to making regions more connected, inclusive and resilient through cooperation.
Where to start
The campaign launches in spring, with a campaign guide and two online events.
The first event will provide comprehensive insights into the campaign preparations. The second session will offer programmes tips to reach wider audiences through traditional and digital media when promoting their events.

What we are working on
Interact offers a full range of services to support programmes in promoting their own local events as part of a wider social media campaign.
These services include:
- Official identity branding
- Customisable promotional video
- Social media boosting campaign
- Website visibility
- A competition to highlight the best local events
- A practical guide with ideas and step-by-step instructions for local activities
- Daily individual advice and support
On the occasion of Europe Day (9 May), we will publish the 2025 campaign guide along with the promotional video.
