Exploring synergies between Interreg IPA and IPA-IPA programmes
The regions in Europe are facing challenges that cannot be tackled through a single funding source or funding programme, be it green and digital transition, energy efficiency, water quality, connectivity, or investments into human capital. These cross-cutting themes can be tackled only by building complementarities between different initiatives and investments to achieve the foreseen results and desired impact. And at the same time, build more trust among all stakeholders and enhance the accession process in the Western Balkan by making it more effective and credible.
Together with the Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), Commission's Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) and CBIB+3 project, Interact is organising a meeting to bring together representatives from both Interreg IPA CBC programmes and IPA-IPA programmes supported by the IPA III financing instrument.
The aim of the event is:
- to raise awareness about the Interreg IPA and IPA-IPA programmes; and
- to offer room for open discussion on the possibility of engaging Interreg IPA and IPA-IPA programmes in an exercise to identify areas of interest for synergies.
The target group of the meeting is representatives from Interreg IPA CBC programmes, IPA-IPA CBC programmes, transnational programmes financed with IPA, EU Macro-regional strategies, Delegations of the European Union to Western Balkan countries, and National Authorities. Other interested stakeholders are welcome to join online if there is an interest.
