Bringing territoriality into Interreg
In spring 2020, Interact started focusing on the concept of territoriality in Interreg, and how it could be used by programmes in the post 2020 period to achieve a bigger territorial impact. You will find here a comprehensive package of recorded presentations, documents and online Q&A sessions on the relevance and notion of territoriality and functional areas, on Policy Objective 5, the Territorial Agenda 2030 and other issues related to the concept of territoriality. Originally, we had planned to kick off this work with an event in Leuven on 17 March 2020. But then had to change our plans for well-known reasons. We have prepared a short video to tell you a bit more what we are going to offer you instead.

Territorial Package - A set of eight fiches on Interreg and territoriality
More or less exactly two years later, on 10 March 2022, Interact published the Territorial Package. This Territorial Package presents the outcome of the work of Interact’s informal Focus Group ‘Territorial Agenda 2030 and Interreg’ during 2021-2022. The Focus Group brought together representatives from cross-border, transnational and interregional Interreg programmes, representatives from the EU, national and regional level as well as other territorial actors. The aim is to provide easy-to-read, easy-to-understand and easy-to-apply information and suggestions to Interreg practitioners on how to strengthen the territorial dimension in their European Territorial Cooperation programmes and projects. The Territorial Package is available in Interact's online library as one file including all eight fiches, but also separately fiche by fiche.
