The projects, initiatives and project ideas listed below do not necessarily reflect the official list of actions and projects of the Action Plan for the EUSDR nor projects supported by the Priority Aread Coordinators of the Strategy. Please be aware that this compilation does not claim to be exhaustive.

ALSO DANUBE
ALSO DANUBE (Advanced Logistic Solutions for Danube Waterway) was a Research and Demonstration project within the 5th Framework Programme of the European Union. The overall objective was to increase significantly the use of inland waterway as a key transport mode within intermodal door-to-door logistic chains, focusing on the Danube axis.
BIDS Becoming involved in the Danube strategy
The aim of the BIDS project is to stimulate the involvement of local communities in formulating and understanding the policy concerning the development of the Danube strategy which the EU is bringing out in 2010.
centrope_tt
centrope_tt (former CENTRIS) is an international experts community for technology transfer and innovation support acting in the bordering regions of Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia - called CENTROPE.
CESLA - Cross-border implementation of environmentally friendly ultra-light vehicles in Slovenia and Austria
The CESLA project is aimed at the presentation of the successful use of ultra-light electric vehicles and to generate and develop an adequate environment in the SI-AT cross-border regions for their implementation.
CLISP - Climate Change Adaptation by Spatial Planning in the Alpine Space
The project is aimed at preventing, reducing and mitigating climate-change related spatial conflicts, vulnerability of spatial development and spatial structures, and to adverse climate change impacts and consequential damages and costs.
Danube Basin NGO Network Project
For the involvement of NGOs and the civil society in the open stakeholder process of shaping and realizing the new strategy.
Danube Bridge 2
For over 400 km there has been only one bridge between Romania and Bulgaria crossing the Danube. Currently Danube Bridge 2 is being built between Vidin and Calafat, with two lanes in each direction for road traffic as well as a central railway line.

Danube Regional Development Project
Boosting economic activity in the Danube region is one of the key goals of the economic development and employment promotion programmes implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). These programmes promote tourism, investment and environmental protection in the Danube riparian states in South-Eastern Europe: Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania.

Improving coordination of nature protection activities along the Danube
DATOURWAY
The DATOURWAY project presents an outstanding example of transnational cooperation committed to the development of tourism along and on the middle and south-eastern section of the Danube River, while paying particular attention to the protection and enhancement of the natural and cultural resources linked to this area of the great European waterway.
DRA-MUR-CI
The aims of the project are the coordination and the joint implementation of tasks concerning the water management at the two main rivers Drau and Mur, which are shared by the EU Member States Austria and Slovenia. Through a process of intensive cooperation and exchange of experiences common standards for the management of floods and sediments, which currently do not exist, will be formulated.
EdTWIN - Education Twinning for European Citizenship, Heading for Excellence in the CENTROPE Region
In three cross-border projects EdTWIN aims at developing language skills and competences of pupils and teachers for living and working in the multicultural region of Centrope.
Energy Future – sustainable energy consumption in the Austrian-Czech border region
Developing sustainable cooperation in the fields of efficient energy consumption and renewable energy by using the high implementation potentials and the existing technical know-how in the border region
EUREGIO city.net – City Network Weinviertel–South Moravia
The project aims at intensifying the cross-border cooperation of regional small and medium sized cities and the establishment of a city network regarding administrative, cultural, social and political aspects.

Cross-border cooperation of the labour unions to foster a positive, integrative and efficient development of the labour market in the border region of Burgenland and West Hungary

NELI
Cooperation Network for Logistics and Nautical Education focusing on Inland Waterway Transport in the Danube Corridor supported by innovative solutions
NEWADA - Network of Danube Waterway Administrations
NEWADA, Network of Danube Waterway Administrations, aims at increasing the efficiency of the Danube as the European Transport Corridor VII by intensifying cooperation between waterway administrations to promote inland navigation as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly mode of transport.
POLYCE - Metropolisation and Polycentric Development in Central Europe
This ESPON Targeted Analysis addresses the polycentric network of metropolitan functional urban areas in the Danube Region. In order to detect opportunities for sustainable urban development at macro-regional and city-level the project carries out a territorial analysis at both levels. The Central European capital cities Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava and Ljubljana shall be analysed in depth.
