On-the-spot checks
On-the-spot checks (verifications) are checks involving visits to view documentation kept by beneficiaries, progress made so far and the actual products and results of a project. These checks are normally performed by First Level Controllers, but other programme authorities and auditing bodies may perform them as well.
The article in the December 2010 Interact Newsletter, on page 16, presents the basics on performing on-the-spot checks.
