European Commission publishes 1st Interim Report of Ex-Post Evaluation of INTERREG
After the Inception Report, the First Intermediate Report is the second major milestone of the ex-post evaluation of INTERREG III. This document gives an overview of the work carried out so far and presents the results of Tasks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5:
- Task 1 examined the political and regulatory bases of the INTERREG III Initiative and reviewed the most important literature on territorial cooperation;
- Under Task 2, data gathering was undertaken in relation to all three Strands of INTERREG III and an overall analysis of the data was conducted;
- The ESPON and INTERACT programmes were evaluated in Task 3 according to the methodology specified in the Inception Report;
- The development of an analytical grid and typology was fully completeded in Task 4 and the outcome is presented in Chapter 4 of this Intermediate Report;
- For the in-depth analysis of a representative sample of 16 INTERREG III programmes (excluding ESPON and INTERACT) on the basis of which conclusions can be extrapolated to all 79 programmes (Task 5), a number of preparatory activities were carried out which are summarised in Chapter 5 of this Intermediate Report.
