New Commission - New Commissioner for Regional Policy - Designates

The new Commission was proposed recently. Formal designation will follow the hearings procedures, to take place in January 2010
In January, the hearings will take place at the European Parliament. After that, the new Commissioners will be subject to a vote of approval by the European Parliament.
The proposed Commissioner for Regional Policy, who should eventually replace Commissioner Pawel Samecki (PL), is Dr. Johannes Hahn, from Austria.
