North West Europe Call for Projects Now Open till 9 April
15.03.2010
The NWE Programme has just opened its sixth Call for projects with more than EUR 164 millions
The sixth call opened to all 4 priorities and Strategic Initiatives on 12 March and will close on 9 April at 12:00 pm (noon) with a total budget of more than EUR 164 million.
For this call, the Programme has reviewed its guidance to projects to make them more easy to understand. The 'Guidance Notes' are now called 'Project Hand Book' and include more concrete definitions of key topics like 'Innovation' and 'Transnationality'. Tangible examples were also added to make this concept easier to understand.
The documents can be downloaded from the Programme's website.
The call is also open to strategic initiatives projects. It is a novel approach for project development to answer territorial challenges and weaknesses in four specific domains (e.g. the territorial structure of North West Europe and demographic characteristics) that have been identified by a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis.
To be approved, a strategic project needs to meet high performance standards, apart from meeting the regular eligibility and selection criteria.
Projects that are approved as 'strategic' will receive -on top of the regular ERDF fund- an extra grant of 1% of their total budget with no additional match funding required.
