Irregularities and other challenges for Certifying Authorities in European Territorial Cooperation Programmes

INTERACT organised on 15 June 2010 in Rome an event “Irregularities and other challenges for Certifying Authorities in European Territorial Cooperation Programmes” targeted primarily at Certifying Authorities of ETC programmes.

The event constituted a platform for exchange of knowledge, information and experience among Certifying Authorities. It built upon the results and was a continuation of two past INTERACT events, namely “Understanding the roles and functions of Certifying and Audit Authorities in European Territorial Cooperation Programmes” (28-29 April 2009 in Lisbon) and “Seminar for Certifying Authorities in European Territorial Programmes” (9 July 2009 in Brussels).

Topics already covered at the previous seminars i.e. reasonable assurance and withdrawals and recoveries were discussed to get an update. Also the topic of irregularities was covered since the issue was getting more and more relevant for all bodies involved in control and audit. The seminar was be targeted mainly at all ETC Certifying Authorities. Representatives of ETC Managing Authorities and Joint Technical Secretariats taking an interest in the topics were also invited.
