Results of consultation process on the future of ENPI CBC available!
01.08.2011
Following the request of the European Commission and of the European External Action Service (EEAS), INTERACT ENPI launched a consultation exercise on the future of ENPI CBC at the beginning of May 2011.
The purpose of this consultation was to provide the European Commission and the EEAS with the opinion of ENPI CBC practitioners on the cross border cooperation instrument at the external borders of the European Union in view of the preparation of the new regulatory framework for the period 2014-2020.
In this regard, INTERACT ENPI together with experts experienced with ETC, IPA CBC and ENPI CBC, prepared a consultation paper that was sent to the ENPI CBC community at the beginning of May 2011. The consultation was closed at the end of June 2011 and the conclusions have now been finalised. You will find here the two questionnaires (one for the attention of programme stakeholders and an extract of the first one for the attention of project actors) used for the consultation as well as the draft report of the conclusions following the analysis of the answers received.
It is important to note that these conclusions are exclusively based on the replies to the questionnaire. They represent the views of ENPI CBC stakeholders that have participated in the consultation exercise. The European Commission and the European External Action Service may take these views into account when drafting the regulatory framework. However, other considerations will also have to be taken into account and therefore these conclusions may not be systematically taken on board for the future of cross border cooperation programmes.
The consultation is now over. However, for those who would have significant remarks to make on the preliminary conclusions, there is still the opportunity to send an email to interact.enpi@interact-eu.net before 2 September 2011. The purpose is not to reopen the discussion but rather to ensure that all main concerns are included in the final conclusions that will be presented to the European Commission and the European External Action Service in September.
NB: Please note that the conclusions should be read together with the consultation papers where the different options discussed are included.
