"State of the regions" report published
On 17 May 2005, Danuta Hübner presented the "Third Progress Report on Cohesion", which addresses the condition of the regions in the enlarged European Union in terms of levels of income, employment and productivity. 64 regions, covering more than one quarter of the EU's population, have GDP per capita of 75% or less than the EU average.
The report also provides details on the ways that Member States and regions have used the opportunity of the mid-term review of the Structural Funds to make adjustments to their development programmes.
