Special attention has been given to the quality of the information, the navigability and the customisation of the site to cover the needs of each public group. A user-friendly search tool allows users access to complete information about projects, which is updated automatically from our Programme Monitoring System. We know how busy our readers are and therefore we wanted to offer them a calm and readable environment. For that, we used a clear graphic design and the display of the navigation path to facilitate the orientation and easy movement through the website.
The website is at its first stage and over time, a number of new features will be added. Online tools such as Flash diagrams, video and sound files will be used to enhance the communication with the public. In order to approach to our users, the main information about the programme will be translated in all the official languages of the programme: German, Dutch and French. At launch, the website is only available in English.
This new platform will also be used as a working tool and it will enhance the communication between the Joint Technical Secretariat and the project promoters through restricted areas. Simply by logging in, users have access to a customised set of menus that respond to their needs and allow a variety of actions ranging from read only to editing and uploading content.
