Sharing INTERREG experiences
2007-2013 Latvia-Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme aims at minimising the impact of the borders and integrating the societies of the border regions. Programme is financed from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the total EU funds allocated to the Programme amount to ca 75 million EUR. To implement the Programme, the participating countries have decided to establish a joint programme implementation structure consisting of the Managing, Paying and Certifying Authorities (all located in the Ministry of Regional development and Local Governments of Latvia) and a Joint Technical Secretariat (JTS). The Joint Technical Secretariat is hosted by the State Regional Development Agency of Latvia (www.vraa.gov.lv) and has its office in Riga, Latvia. A Local Office in Lithuania shall also be established. The JTS team will include nine staff members: the Head of the JTS (Riga Office), three Project Managers, two Financial Managers, two Information Managers and a Programme Assistant. All JTS staff members report directly to the Head of Riga Office.
