Interregional cooperation programme approved

The interregional cooperation programme, was adopted by the European Commission on 11 September. The programme covers the 27 Member States as well as Norway and Switzerland.

The first call for projects will be opened simultaneously and all the interested public authorities have until mid-January 2008 to respond.

The new programme (often abbreviated to "Interreg IVC") will receive funding of EUR 321 million ERDF. It is also a key element in "Regions for economic change", the European Commission's new initiative.
