INTERACT Point IIIC Coordination / Rostock

INTERACT Point IIIC Coordination / Rostock was set up in 2004 with the objective to keep the implementation of the INTERREG IIIC Programme similar across the four INTERREG IIIC zones - North, East, South and West. IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock is a consortium consisting of four Joint Technical Secretariats and Managing Authorities based in Rostock/Germany, Vienna/Austria, Valencia/Spain and Lille/France, of which INTERREG IIIC North, located in Rostock, is the Lead Partner.

What are the objectives of IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock?
IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock is targeted at INTERREG IIIC with the aim to coordinate and harmonize the development of Programme documents, tools and procedures between the four zones. Common standards and fair and equal treatment of applicants from all zones are guaranteed by joint eligibility and selection criteria and a system of quantified indicators, as well as a harmonised legal framework and financial control and audit system. A further aim is to develop and implement joint information and communication strategies to market INTERREG IIIC as one joint Europe-wide Programme and to inform a targeted public on activities and outcomes. IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock also allows scope for additional activities, such as training for staff of the INTERREG IIIC Programme, the development of innovative Programme management tools and studies, and the organisation of large-scale information events to raise greater awareness of the Programme. Yearly meetings of members of the Monitoring and Steering Committees of all countries involved in INTERREG IIIC as well as quarterly meetings of the staff of Joint Technical Secretariats, Managing and Paying Authorities of INTERREG IIIC are organised by IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock. These allow a continuous exchange of information on the zone-specific Programme implementation, strengths and weaknesses and the decision on joint solutions for the whole Programme area.

Contribution to INTERACT Community
With the support of IP IIIC Coordination / Rostock, a close cooperation within the INTERREG IIIC community and the exchange of experiences and knowledge with other INTERREG programmes and INTERACT Stakeholders is ensured. The overall objective of INTERACT - to increase the effectiveness of INTERREG III during the current programming period - is thus implemented. The collection of experiences and knowledge in Strand C is an important contribution to INTERACT, and thereby the entire INTERREG community.
