Job description
Paul heads the international team that makes up the INTERACT Secretariat and bears overall responsibility for the management and operations of the Secretariat and for the continuous development of the INTERACT Programme, steering it to achieve its aims.
On behalf of the Managing Authority, the Head of Secretariat represents the INTERACT Team in the support of the Monitoring and Steering Committee, the Communications Group and the Financial Control Group.

Job description
Mattia shares the management of the INTERACT Programme with the Head of the Secretariat. In particular he supervises financial and operational aspects of approved operations as well as the implementation of the INTERACT Points’ Annual Work Plans. He is also responsible for the correct provision of the Technical Assistance functions towards the Monitoring and Steering Committee members.
Albert Pappenheim
Finance Manager
Job description
Albert is responsible for supervising the financial aspects of the Secretariat. He also undertakes the assessment of the financial claims of the INTERACT Points and Projects in close cooperation with his colleagues. He also advises projects on the best use of their budgets. In these aspects assistance is given to the Paying Authority and all kinds of financial information is provided for the Managing Authority, the MSC and the Commission.
Sarah Hayes
Communication Manager
Job description
Sarah is responsible for the management and development of all communication flows between the stakeholders of the INTERACT Programme, including the Member States of the Programme and the European Commission, and for all aspects of Public Relations. The INTERACT Corporate Identity was developed as part of the development of the INTERACT Communications System.
She supervises the maintenance and development of the Communications System as well as the production of all INTERACT Information tools. She also organises external promotional events for the INTERACT Secretariat and supports partners on all INTERACT Communications-related activities.
Project and Communication Officer
Job description
He/she provides support to the Programme Managers at the INTERACT Programme Secretariat in the areas of project and communications management. He/She assists in the creation, development and coordination of information and communication tools and communication campaigns. He/She also collaborates with the evaluation of reports submitted by INTERACT funded bodies.
Ilaria Borella
Project Officer
Job description
Ilaria provides support to the Programme Managers at the INTERACT Programme Secretariat in the area of project management. She assists project partners with contracting, reporting, budgeting, and checking the eligibility of expenditures. She collaborates with the Managers in the evaluation of activity and financial reports submitted by the INTERACT funded Projects and Points.
Beatrix Rammel
Team Assistant
Job description
Beatrix ensures smooth working conditions within the INTERACT Programme Secretariat as the person responsible for general administration and day-to-day operations and providing/organising all internal and external secretarial services to all members of staff. She is the first point of contact for general queries in relation to the INTERACT Programme.
