MTEC + QT Common Workshop: Defining the strategic approach, the selection procedures and project types of the future transnational programme Central European Space

To follow up on the previous workshop and to support the Drafting Team of the future Transnational Cooperation Programme Central European Space (CES), INTERACT Point MTEC, Mauro Novello and INTERACT Point QT Lindha Feldin facilitated a workshop on the definition of the strategic approach, as well as on the selection procedures and project types.

The results of the workshop will be used as a starting point to be submitted, discussed and approved by the CES Task Force and by the Member States concerned.

In particular the members of the drafting team could agree upon the main characteristics of top-down and bottom-up projects.

Countries Represented: Austria, Czeck Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovak Republic

The participant's were provided with an opportunity to network.
Presentations were distributed to all participants.

11.00 - 11.30 - Welcome, Introduction and ToDos - Outcomes of the TF in Vienna and TF requests to the DT, overview of agenda. Report on EU COM comments to the draft OPs of North Sea and BSR.
11.30 - 11.45 - News from the Editorial DT in Munich July, 2006 - Report on the progress achieved.
11.45 - 12.45 - Workshop on the Identification of Initial Key Focus areas - Based on the outcomes of the Editorial DT meeting in Munich, presentation of focus areas per priority. Workshop on the initial strategic ranking of focus areas according to importance.
12.45 - 13.15 - Further Elaboration of the Strategy - Based on the outcomes of the TF in Vienna, the Editorial DT, and inputs from communication experts, presentation of the Strategy Chapter and Strategic Programme Criteria. Discussion.
13.15 - 14.30 - Lunch
14.30 - 15.30 - Common Understanding on Top-down vs. bottom up projects.
15.30 - 17.00 - Project Development, Application Procedure, and the Selection of Projects. Presentation of Work done so far. Workshop on options to identify strategic projects.

9.45 - 12.00 - Workshops on the Definition of the Transnational Working Group. And workshop on the formulation of Project Types Based on identified Strategic Programme Criteria, workshop using a 'Morphological Chart' to identify potential project types.

13.00 - 14.00 - Integration of External Experts in the Programming Process - Presentation of suggested way to integrate experts. Discussion
