| Outline |
Introducing the running of CARDS Neighbourhood Programmes to stakeholders from Greece, Albania and FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) was the aim of the workshop held in Athens on 25 and 26 April. 20 Programme managers from the Hellenic Managing Authority and their counterparts from Italy, Albania (including the ECD) and FYROM actively participated in the training session. Ms. Tanja Rener from the Slovene MA introduced findings and bottlenecks of the Slovenia/Hungary/Croatia Programme, while Mr Imre Csalagovits, director of the INTERREG department within VATI, which acts as JTS for two NP, based his presentation on the Hungary / Serbia and Montenegro Programme. Both shared their views on the challenges and specific requirements of cooperation across the EU external borders. Ms Krisela Bufi, representing the JTS Italy Adriatic, gave an overview of the cooperation between Italy and the Albanian partners. The workshop was particularly welcome as it was held at the time when Greece and its partners were discussing their Programme arrangements and provided the participants with advice based on practical experience. The session ended with all the partners reflecting on the coming milestones and the drawing up of an Action Plan for the specific case of Greece/Albania. Follow-up and further specific training sessions on South-Eastern Neighbourhood Programmes are to be organised later in 2005. Further information can be downloaded from the documents below. |
