Sharing INTERREG experiences
The original thinking behind sea border programmes was that they should be defined by water, both as an opportunity and as a barrier that prevented some types of cross-border cooperation activities and limited the intensity of cooperation. Based on project development activities from the current period, different types of activities that worked best were discussed and programmes shared information on the priorities and objectives for the new period as well as project development and management challenges arising from longer distances.
The meeting was organised by the INTERACT programme with contributions from the Maritime Safety Umbrella Operation and the Association of European Border Regions and the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions.
